In Early Spring you can enjoy the Settimana dei Beni Culturali, a week that proposes free entry to a range of museums and galleries throughout the city, as well as a number of concerts, all in the name of Milan’s cultural heritage. Idroscalo in Festa offers numerous free sporting and music events between May and September at the Idroscalo Park, and don’t miss out on Milano d’Estate, which offers numerous open air concerts by the likes of Radiohead and REM and takes place around the Castello Sforzesco in the summertime. From the 1st to the 3rd Sunday in June you can partake in the Festa dei Navigli and enjoy free concerts and cooking demonstrations, all the while strolling through the antique markets set up next to street performers in the canal area. Finally, we recommend checking out Notturni in Villa during your stay, which features a series of jazz and classical music concerts in patrician villas dotted around the city’s different neighborhoods between mid-June and August. They generally start around 10pm and entrance is free.
